Proofread your essay a million times and makes sure at least three different people read it. I think this applies to all schools, but don't underestimate the power of proper grammar, organization, and conclusion paragraph. I read the essays of my friends and a few small changes took the essays from so-so to interesting. Marist doesn't do interviews, so really view the essay as important and a way to make yourself stand out.

I did not have much trouble getting into Marist. There's no secret for gaining admission; you just have to have good grades, good test scores, and participate in meaningful activities. If you are lacking in one of these areas, perhaps schedule an interview to convince the admissions department that you are hard-working, interesting, and deserving of admittance.
