If you want to get in then just work on your SAT scores. The university loves talking about how high their average SAT score are. Bring their average up and you're in. Also, some majors are super easy to get into and some are nearly impossible. For example, if you want to be a bio major or a math major you will have no issues. If you want to be a nurse.....good luck. It is tough. Engineering is also much harder. If you are worried about not getting in to the university then just apply as a major with a large graduating class(not as competitive) then transfer to your preferred major once in. Best of luck!

It's getting harder every year to get into UMassNov 11 2015Geography and Geosciences
It's getting harder every year to get into UMass. I highly recommend taking as many AP's as possible, just because of how much it helps you once you are at school. If you are a good student, you shouldn't have a problem getting in.
If you are trying to get into the honors program, that's a bit more difficult. I am in the honors program, but if I had to get in again, I probably wouldn't be able to.
I scored high on my ACTs and SATs, and I had an unweighted high school GPA of 3.9.
Once again, take as many AP's as possible.
