To get in, I just described who I was and what i did. I was very motivated in highschool and had an exceptionally high GPA and was very involved in sports and music and honor societies so i could've gotten into anywhere.. Just try and make yourself seem really good. You need atleast a 3.5 in highschool or else you probably wont get in. As someone who was accepted last year (2010), I can tell you that only the top 60 kids in my class of 300 got into Umass, (meaning the top 60 all had GPA's of about 3.5) then rest were waitlisted or declined.

It's not hard to get in to this schoolSep 09 2010Communications
it's not hard to get in to this school. you just have to be a B student or even a C student might have a chance. do some core extracurricular's and build around that and you'll have a solid resume and volunteer history and your fine. write a good college essay and you can fool anyone here. i still wonder when i walk through campus how some people got in.

I was in the top 20% of my class with a 3.7 GPA. I had a few extracurricular activities. UMass took months to send me a decision, they were the last ones I heard from. They gave me the least amount of financial aid but for some reason I enrolled there anyway. It's not too hard to get in, I suggest eraly decision though because they get a ton of applications.
