Positive Negative Neutral Advice
If you attend this school just be preparedAverageEngineering Department
If you attend this school just be prepared to submit to the authorities that be. If you are a free thinker and restrictions bother you then this is not a good place for you to be. If you can't live without movies or "good" music then this is not a good place for you to be. If you can't handle being told what to do don't attend here. If you want to hold your girlfriend's hand dont attend here. If you want to play your video games in your precious spare time don't go here. I would have included my email but the institution would track me down and reprimand me for not going through their own PR guy. Everything else aside the teachers are good, and the classes are awesome. From an academic standpoint this school is excellent.

Question
BJU is a counter culture fighting to stayQuite BrightEngineering Department
BJU is a counter culture fighting to stay they way. They foster and promote students who express the show of conformity. Looking back with a little of life's prospective it was a hindrance to my growth toward God. So many good well meaning people fighting keep a form of righteousness and forgetting the message. The school is safe and clean, but the totality of the facilities is below standard. The hierarchy of student and facility police each other conformity through spying, innuendo, and intimidation. Misfits of any type are ground up and sent packing for the good of the many. Conform and survive, but better yet oppress and excel. The teaching faculty are truly kind people, doing their service. A fair number of the teaching elite don't deserve their position and are academically inbred and grandstanders. The student, business, and religious admistration contain the true believers. They with few exceptions are ruthless in maintaining the grip of philosophy. A few of these powerful people are strange and scary people caught up in their control. I found it difficult to conform enough to graduate. My last year was miserable. My education was purely academic and theoretical. The school actually opposed internships and on the job education. The school is very expensive and considering government grants and loans I should have went to an Ivy League School. They religiously cajole their students to keep attending (it's God's will) no matter how far in debt (self lent) their student get. Worst of all if you fail to finish, no schools outside the upstate will accept their non accredited credits. I receive quite a bit of negative attention interviewing and working when people discover I attended Bob Jones. Their bigoted views were a horrible testimony to God and now to my coworkers. I always avoid precise discussions of were I attended school.

Lastly, the final test, I would never consider sending my children to BJU.
