Went to pitt for a year and aAverageUndecided
Went to pitt for a year and a half, absolutely hated the environment, and transferred. the people and the overpopulated, crowded campus are terrible. you honestly do not feel like your going to a college, its a complete waste of money and the university really does not go out of its way to provide musicians, comedians or other forms of entertainment for their students. the football games are terrible, the party scene is atrocious, don't waste your time, go somewhere else.

Question
I had the opportunity to attend classes atBrightComputer Science
I had the opportunity to attend classes at Carnegie Mellon while also attending Pitt. There is simply no comparison between the two institutions. I now understand what a college education can be and how bad Pitt really is. All around, Pitt is a second rate school. Professors are arrogant, unhelpful, and disorganized. As a student at Pitt, you have to not only do the work for the class, but also verify that your grades are recorded and managed correctly by the professors throughout the semester. Many times there are grading mistakes, calculation errors, and ambiguity in the language of assignments. During my years at Pitt, I felt that professors were setting their students up for failure, by providing ambiguous instructions, using trickery in exams, testing on material not covered in the textbook or class, and not providing meaningful feedback when asked for clarification. Not once did I feel empowered by a professor at Pitt.

Question
Oakland is best described as urban ruins, filledComputer Science
Oakland is best described as urban ruins, filled with pollution, traffic, and crime. Only a few buildings are maintained at all, with the rest practically in shambles. The administration is a mess. You can expect to be sent all over the campus to find any answers, and wait weeks for any problems to be resolved. Commuting requires an average of 20 minutes to find a parking spot, but still preferable to living there. Two of my friends had their car sound-systems and valuables stolen just outside my apartment. The worst problem, however, is that most of the students there are media-controlled liberal drones with no personality, culture, or religion, and it shows in the disappointing list of student activities. The only service that has benefitted me was the counseling center, where I am recieving psychiatric treatment for the clinical depression I have from living there for a year. Unless you love cheap beer, bad music, and liberals, you will not enjoy this University.
