I was surprised by how much I loved Temple University. I came from a small suburban town and I always wanted to move into a city. The campus is really well-lit at night, but the surrounding areas are the ghetto. You should be safe though if you're with a group of people. And you should know now that Temple is a massive school, so you shouldn't expect your professors and the guidance department to hold your hand the whole time. Temple is orientated to more independent students.

I don't have much bad to say about Temple.
I may not have liked all my professors but I respected all of them. Coursework seems standard, not that I know what the alternatives are. The Calculus courses might be harder than average.

The staff is usually helpful. I studied abroad in Japan for a semester and it all went pretty smoothly, despite my incompetence.

The area is bad but it's fine as long as you don't get too far off-campus.
It's probably easier to party here than other schools, but you really have to attend your classes regularly if you want to do well. I've seen a bunch of people just stop going to class and drop out because they were so behind on work.Overall, like I said, I think Temple is a pretty good school, though it's the only one I've been to so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Question
The only people I met who did notQuite BrightNeuroscience/Cognitive Science
The only people I met who did not like it here were either overly sheltered or the type of kid who was way into their high school social scene and couldn't adapt to a city environment. Temple is a great school but you need to have your priorities down since there is a lot going on all at once. This is both a blessing and a curse as you'll never be at a loss for something to do and you'll always be tempted by something when you need to be focusing on your work. If you're getting into neuroscience/cognitive science or psychology they have a great program and much research is being done through Temple, so I would definitely recommend this school for those areas of study.
