Positive Negative Neutral Advice
NYU is not for conservative people.Quite BrightPreMed and Medical
NYU is not for conservative people. This school is only good for Stern school and Tisch school and not anything else. Academic qualities for any school beside Tisch and Stern are horrible, not worth 60,000 dollars, busy professors, shitty resources. Everything about NYU is shit. Overcrowded library, lack of library computers, where does everyone's 60,000 dollars go to? Mostly to President of NYU who earn over a million dollars (truth) and wasting on pointless freebie shits like markers, flyers, playing card, key chains, and things that you don't need. This school is a fucking joke, do not come here for wonderful academic experiences. I am transferring this shit hole out next year to Columbia. Often I wonder how stupid people get into NYU, everyone asking me hw answers and shit. I cannot imagine how these pre-med students will get into medical school.

Question
Where to start?BrightPhysics
Where to start? Building maintenance is terrible - no a/c repeatedly when it's hot; no heat when it's cold. Long walks to class eat up lots of time. Food in dorm (Third North.) Tuition - extremely expensive, which means that other aspects of the school need to be superior in order to get good value for the money; unfortunately, the university falls very short - the administration and faculty are almost all unhelpful with any issue - you are forced to pester and become obnoxious just to get heard or helped with anything. Freshmen are treated like something stuck to the bottom of their shoes. Physics labs cancelled (even tho you paid for the course) because 'the department doesn't have the money to hold the physics 1 lab this week' - can you imagine this happening at any other 'top' school!!??? No social life what so ever. Most of the kids are so unhappy - be very sure that you want to spend your college years in a completely anonymous environment, where your presence or absence makes absolutely no difference to anyone or anything. NYU is all about the money, but they use none of to support undergrad education - terrible physical facilities for undergrads; nice facilities on campus are rented out to outside users and generally off-limits to undergrads. Strongly consider all your college offers and make sure that NYU is the best value for you - if you have scholarship money from elsewhere, but none from NYU - the quality of the school is not high enough to make up for that difference. This school is highly over-rated as an undergraduate institution. Probably better in certain grad schools, but lousy for undergrads.

Question
What I'm about to say I have readNot so bright
What I'm about to say I have read on this and many other sites long before I got here, but I was stupid and did not listen. NYU was my dream school since I was 12, but it is obvious to me now that I fell in love with a fantasy, not the depressing reality that haunts the halls of this shallow overpriced school. I have only been here for THREE days and am already transferring to a community college until I can transfer to Rutgers for the Spring Session. I HATE IT THAT MUCH. Take it from someone who was OBSESSED with this school, if you are a good looking, social, overall pretty NORMAL female PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. Everyone here is fucking wierd, you will not even WANT to be friends with the wierdos you encounter here. and Dating? FORGET ABOUT IT. All the guys are GAY, unattractive, socially awkward. There is NO community. NO parties. I don't care what anyone on here says. If you want to have fun you have to first, SEARCH endlessly for it online, and then attempt to go to some random bar/club. Then, pay 20 bucks just to sit around and not drink, because the clubs and stuff are getting pretty strict around here. The security is SO strict, you can't even come back to the dorms trashed, if you can even find anywhere to get trashed .And dorm parties aren't worth it they get broken up within minutes. And you get into serious trouble for alcohol here. I came into this knowing it wasn't a typical college experience, but i still thought I would have a social life and be HAPPY. This place just makes you MISERABLE. Everything about it makes you want to cry in a corner all day. The city is lonely, millions of people and you will feel more alone than you ever have in your life. The feelings nyu breeds are of the rarest form, you'll never be more depressed than when you attend this school. and unless you go to Tish, ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. It's no ivy league, and you will be miserable for 50 thou a year. Have fun paying off that debt in this economy. FRESHMAN; GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. My classes didn't start so I get a full refund. I don't care if I'm a bum for the rest of my life, ANYTHING is better than this fucking depression.
