Alfred University

I thought that I had made a good choice by choosing Alfred. 4 years later I am graduating at the top of my class and have been extremely disappointed with my time here. Most of the professors are terrible. There are a few good ones but most of them leave after a few years. The Admissions Office lied about placement rates after graduation and there is a lawsuit pending. The financial aid office is a shit show. People that work there would be fired if they worked for a company accounting department. DO NOT GO TO ALFRED!

4th Year Male -- Class 2017

Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Education Quality: F

The Foundation program for BFAs is mostly a bunch of professors with little direction trying to amuse themselves by treating the students like monkeys in a lab. Western Civilization class is also a bunch of professors that hate each other that preemptively arguing with each other in front of an auditorium of students. The area is mostly full of townies and agricultural students that hate the university students. On-campus, RA's are only interested in being helpful to students they want to sleep with and it is more expensive than living off-campus. The college will not help much with finances they just give a tiny bit of aid to everyone and have no time for anyone and they will force students to live on-campus even when it is not helping anyone study and is financially budensome. Two students I knew were raped the one year I was there and the university did the usual cover-up.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

The administration department is not helpful. They have asked me to do my financial aid for 2015, when I was told I would have to do it only once in 2014 for both years. And last semester they asked me to do it again, so I did. They've asked me three times and everytime I was told "You're good to go". Apparently not.

1st Year Male -- Class 2018
