FSU is a beautiful school and the admissionsBrightCommunications
FSU is a beautiful school and the admissions staff is great, communication with students is excellent and housing was good. I was very excited when accepted and planned on spending 4 yrs there. This is why I only stayed one year:

- TOO MUCH partying - I am into athletics, not a drunk or druggie and hard to find friends who aren't wasted all the time. I only knew about 3 ppl from home town, so didn't come w/ my friends.

- Professors don't teach classes, don't ever show up to class & hard to get help. I sat outside of one prof's office (during her student hours) while she chatted on personal call for 25 min. (she knew i was there) when she got off phone said she didn't have time to help me. FML!

- Everyone walks around with head phones & there's no communication.
- Got into a great sorority only to find out that they were a bunch of drunks/sluts (first day they were pushing drinks on minors in the sor. house). They want to charge thousands of $$ for that? I quit.

- I met some ppl in the gym that were ok and tried to join an inter-mural team, but turns out most of team was gay and wanted more than my athletic ability. FML again!

Well, if you go to FSU, I recommend getting into a LLC (living/learning community) or something that hooks u up w/ others. The drinking/drug problem is really bad, that's probably true on most campuses. I ended up going to smaller Christian university in another state and LOVE it. Classier people who are less into getting wasted. I do miss the football games! ;-(

Question
Most of the students at FSU are veryQuite BrightCriminal
Most of the students at FSU are very friendly. However, being an out-of-state student (from PA), I found that a majority of the students from FL already knew at least 10 people from their high school. I felt like an outsider because many people were not really looking for new friends. As for academics, all of my gen-eds were really easy which has its benefits, but I was bored for most of the year. The classes were interesting but not at all challenging. Socially, all there is to do in Tallahassee is party. That's basically it for a social life. I chose to transfer to another school because FSU was not for me. I'm more academically focused than socially/party focused.

Question
Like any other university, what you put intoQuite BrightNutrition
Like any other university, what you put into your experience is what you'll get out of it. This is especially true at a large institution like FSU. There's an enless amount of opportunities for everyone, both academic, social, and cultural. It's easy to feel "lost in the crowd" if you don't take the inititative to "put yourself out there." No one is going to hand you life experiences on a silver platter; you have to make the effort. You want to succeed academically and socially? Get involved in undergraduate research. Seek advice from faculty and peers. Join clubs and sports teams. Study abroad. Do an internship. These opportunities and more are available to those that want them. Your experience will be what you make of it, so put forth your best effort! I promise you can and will succeed at FSU :)
