Housing staff is atrocious.BrightArt & Design Department
Housing staff is atrocious. Moving in was a nightmare. They should hire a full-time mediator. If you have issues with your roommates, they ignore them and hope it subsides because they are just RAs who do it for the free tuition, not because they are qualified. They refuse to allow anyone to move unless you continue to press them; they hope you give up because they are too lazy. Their off-campus housing is SO far away, 15-30 minutes by shuttle to Panther Village (yuck) or Chapman Grand. The apartments on campus are run-down. I transferred after two years.

Question
The average Chapman student is a white, upperBrightMusic Education
The average Chapman student is a white, upper class, male, film student. Located in California's conservative haven, Orange County, the school is probably half and half on the liberal/conservative tilt.

If you are
1) not a big drinker
2) hippie-type
3) social justice warrior
4) not into the Southern California beautiful people stereotype
5) middle or lower class
6) majoring in something other than film or business
7) want a huge sports culture
8) not into hookup culture
Don't go here! I made a huge mistake in not reading reviews on these types of websites before I came here! I do think Chapman would be a great fit for some and I have been able to find people I connect with. But I wouldn't say I fit into the overall campus vibe.

I will say some good things about Chapman since I want this review to be objective and not overtly negative:

1) the campus is beautiful
2) being from out of state, I do love the Southern California weather!
3) Orange is cute, reminds me of my hometown, and I don't mind being in a suburb. The closest beach (Newport) is only 20-30 minutes away and LA is an hour or so depending on traffic - lots of things to do in the area!

4) being a foodie, I can't say I love the cafeteria, but it's not bad!

Question
I just graduated from Chapman this last springQuite BrightKinesiology
I just graduated from Chapman this last spring and I can confidently say that attending Chapman was the best decision I've ever made. In fact, I love the school so much that I am currently applying to their Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Although at every school there will be unfriendly people, the majority of the students are very nice and welcoming, as well as the staff. It is very easy to make connections with your professors and ask for help because the classes are all pretty small.

There are also many different things to be involved with such as sports teams, intramural teams, greek life, clubs, dance teams, youth groups, philanthropies, etc. There is a way to be involved that suits pretty much everyone's interests. The surrounding town of Orange is very cute, with the orange circle walking distance from the university. The Honda Center and Angels Stadium are also less than 10 minutes away for those who love sports or like going to concerts. Newport is 25 minutes away and big bear is only 1 1/2 hours away. It is in a great location with many activities within a 20 minute drive. Overall, I couldn't imagine going to a better university and I am overly satisfied with my experience I've had here.
