The University of New Haven

UNH says:
The University of New Haven has a holistic approach when reviewing an applicant for admission to the university. Admissions counselors consider a strong college preparatory curriculum, along with a student's personal essay and letter's of recommendation. In addition, students may request an interview with an admissions officer if they would like to explain special circumstances regarding their application, as well as to get to know the university better.

Overall, the university is interested in a strong, well rounded student who has shown the desire and commitment to work hard and challenge his/her self, and is involved in clubs, organizations, sports, extra-curricular activities and/or community service.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, however due to an increase in popularity of the university, student's are encouraged to complete their applications as soon as possible.

I stayed focused in schoolJul 06 2012Computer Engineering
I stayed focused in school. Took many AP and IB course through out and stayed active at my school (joining a club, or in my case Marching Band). Try to do well on your SATs and/or ACTs. My dedication and grades brought me many scholarships, plus all the IB and AP courses I took has given me enough credits to almost be a whole year ahead. I suggest to give it your all to pursue something that you are going to love to do!

Just make sure you have a lot of extracurricular activities, community service, and good grades...that will help outweigh bad SAT scores.

At the beginning of the enrollment season UNH isAug 13 2010Accounting
At the beginning of the enrollment season UNH is very selective, scrutinizing GPAs and SAT scores. However, as the start of the school semester draws nearer and enrollment numbers are down every and anyone can be admitted, regardless of academic quality. As they may say, "If there are empty dorms beds, they must be filled. A paying student is a paying student."

To get into this univesity I basically just did well in high school, and got a pretty good score on the SAT's. To get into my program I had to have a certain GPA and SAT score.

I kind of tried in highschool, and then only did well my senior year, but my SAT scores were better then decent, and my overall GPA was a 2.98 or .89, something like that, and despite it being below a 3.0 I still revieced the biggest scholarship that UNH had to offer.
