Midd is a wonderful place to be andBrightSocial Work
Midd is a wonderful place to be and it is very challenging. i think that especially for freshman some extracurricular time may suffer due to the workload but normally students enjoy (!) what they're doing so it isn't as bad as it would seem. The school is very liberal; it needs more diversity in the political area but there are other groups out there and overall the student body is pretty tolerant about views and such; more so than you would find elsewhere. It is a great place and even though we are in rural vermont there are constantly multiple events happening so that you can't do everything that you want to! there is little chance of being bored here but a great chance of a good education. i am a first year chinese student and we have already learned in three weeks what most students learn in a semester in high school. even though it's intense it is also superexciting.

Middlebury can be a wonderful experience if you make the most of it. Some complain there is a lack of culture and diversity, but after coming from a large city with much of both, I think it's fair to say that you can still find both at Middlebury if you look for it. There is something for everyone here despite its isolation in rural Vermont. Best of all, I have not found a group of friendlier people.

Every morning when I walk out my doorQuite BrightPolitical Science
Every morning when I walk out my door and look out over two mountain ranges I'm thankful that I'm in Middlebury. Students here are generally very friendly and fun although there are a few that are more pretentious. Professors here are always available (most even give you their home phone numbers). Social life is not all that varied but is fun nonetheless. If you enjoy the outdoors this is definitly a school for you and even if you don't you should still consider it.
