1) This school is way too expensive. Secondly, the kids are arrogant and wealthy, and don't give the time of day to you if you are not. The classes are good, but it is pretty easy to get by if you "play the game", which I don't. Vermont is nice, and so is the campus but I miss the city, The social life is repetitive too.

Question
Middlebury is the most elitist place I haveBrightPolitical Science
Middlebury is the most elitist place I have ever encountered. The students are extremely closeminded and arrogant. Sometimes I wonder why some of them even went to college when it seems they already have the world all figured out. The social life gets old fast. There isn't much to do other than get drunk with the same people every weekend. Although the teachers are excellent, go somewhere in or near a city, I think there is a lot more to gain from that type of atmosphere.

Question
Middlebury's tuition has increased to $40,000 a year.Quite BrightEconomics
Middlebury's tuition has increased to $40,000 a year. I suppose some schools need a high tuition to look "important". I wasn't exactly "wowed" by their economics department, either (even though it is the top major of the school). I'd suggest other less expensive schools(I'm transferring). This IS a pretty pretentious school, though, but what top 10 school isn't a little snooty? As for the racism, well, what did you expect? It's Vermont, the whitest state in the country. I don't think a couple of ignorant a-holes should keep people from different backgrounds from getting a top education. But this is just one white man's perspective.
