I really hate this university.BrightPreMed and Medical
I really hate this university. I came here to do a post-bac program so i would be prepared to take my MCATS and they just don't have it together. I graduated from Virginia Tech right before i came here and i cannot tell you how different the schools are. At VT everyone is so friendly, school spirit is awesome, the campus is pretty, the food is SO GOOD, and parties are so easy to come by and everyone is welcome to go. I was not a social person before i went there, but i left as an outgoing person and a huge football fan! Here, I have not made any friends since everyone walks around like they are dead. Students are not very welcoming and I have not seen ANY school spirit or any emotions for that matter, the campus is ugly since it is in the middle of the city, oh i could go on and on! I had so many problems getting into the classes i needed since they were all at the same time and basically had no other options. Right now, i am taking two classes, and they are both at 8 am since that was the only time they were offered. Lets just say my life sucks right now. I cannot wait to get out of here, i am not even going to finish my program, i am leaving after this semester. (no i'm not kidding, it's that bad) If i were you, i would apply somewhere else. If you don't get in, go to community college for a year and then transfer. Believe me, you will like community college more than this place.

Question
I came to VCU ready to make friends,Quite BrightJournalism
I came to VCU ready to make friends, get involved, and enjoy my time at college, and I'm leaving this spring sorely disappointed at all aspects of this university. While the staff I've met is mostly friendly and a mixture between helpful and unhelpful as most faculties are, it is the students who make this school completely intolerable. More than three-quarters of the people I've met at VCU hate it and have only come because they've been rejected from Tech, UVA, or JMU. The campus is EMPTY on weekends and school spirit is ZILCH. Most plan to leave after one or two years. I really enjoy the campus in general, but it would be a flat out lie to say I have ever felt safe. It has become common practice to see questionable activity at night, be mocked by homeless people, and in less than three months as a student I've heard about four violent crimes against students and witnessed a shooting less than forty feet away from my dorm. Overall, I would really think hard about attending this university, especially if you are from out of state. It is not worth the steep tuition!

Question
I have just completed my first year atQuite BrightCommunications
I have just completed my first year at VCU... and I must say that I feel as though I have learned NOTHING. Basically the coursework is not very challenging at all, and other classmates don't even do thier work.

There is nothing to look at around campus either, very grimy, dirty, and too many homeless men coming up to me and asking for my name or for some money.

The greek life sucks, they will tell you otherwise. But they basically try to boast themselves up, even though they are really pathetic.

Campus life is okay if you like thinking of activites to do on your own, because THIS IS NOT A PARTY SCHOOL. I am a huge partier and i love meeting new people. Basically the parties hear consist of knowing someone who owns a house, who is 21, and knowing the clique they hang out with. You can only party if you're friends with them, and if you are part of thier clique (which is like 5 people) so that's not partying.

I was walking one day, and a guy ran up to me asking if I had cell phone becuause he just got robbed at gunpoint. Then on my last week during finals there was a shooting right outside of my dorms at the Landmark Theater. PLEASE PLEASE dont go to school if you like to party, and you love beautiful scenery and feeling safe.
