The administration reached a whole new level of desperation and just sent out a email to all of its students "to perpetuate our brand." Some excerpts: "...the entire university should assume the role of the host." "Their impression and decision to attend umw depends on how they feel while they are here, so thank you for perpetuating our brand,..." EtcAlso goes on to tell its students to use hashtags during the day (e.g. #BestDecisionEver). All of this is in attempts to skew Mary Washington's IMAGE in a positive manner, instead of being based solely on the authentic MaryWash (which isn't quite so pretty...). Fun fact: a student was murdered yesterday, few weeks before that a suicide, and dont even get me started out the rugby team or the kid who jumped out the 5th floor window of eagle. #mymarywash

“GMU and UMW were my top schools toNot so brightComputer Science
GMU and UMW were my top schools to go to when I was applying last year. I decided to go to UMW and first year wasn't that bad. The social life is alright. I was lucky and made really great friends during my first semester. I have good connections so far with tons of other people but the academics here are awful. The professors are really nice and helpful but all they do is just read the slide off and that's it. They'll perhaps do a bit of class activity but it's really pointless to go to class. The food is usual the same everyday like the seacobeck hall we have here causes us to go to the bathroom and it hurts our stomach mostly 80% of the time. The dorms are really crappy here to be honest. There are only 30% of the dorms that are really nice but the rest really sucks. UMW is trying their best to just show they latest buildings that look so nice while the majority of campus is pretty old. If you want to have a social life, you can go here. Otherwise go to your other university choice.

Not really much anymore anyone can say about this school. Either you believe the reviews or you believe what the school tells you about itself.
Its also painfully obvious reading some of the positive reviews that the school writes their own reviews.If you would still like to goto this school all you have to do to get in is basically have a heartbeat. They accept almost everyone. They accept so many unqualified people that they have a transition program prior to freshman year to try to help these kids not flunk and drop out (money the school loses through tuition, books, etc). This school is a joke.
