I came from a really small town andQuite BrightAgriculture/Horticulture
I came from a really small town and graduated with less than 50 students. I did want to attend a prestigious Division 1 University but also didn't want to feel like a small fish in a big pond. Texas Tech University has the prestigious Division 1 status, but it also feels like one big family. I feel the school spirit is a big attribute to this. I always hear about college students complaining about having to go back after a nice break, but every time I ask a Tech student, they always say they can't wait to go back to Lubbock. Our high and continually increasing retention rates prove this trend. I also can't go anywhere around campus (or even Lubbock) without running into someone I know. When you walk around campus, people smile back and even look out for you. For instance, one time I dropped my student ID. Instead of people continuing on with their own agenda like they very easily could have, someone picked it up and took time out of their day to contact and get it back to me. Contrary to what people believe, you're not just a number here. Which brings me to my second point: the staff. Texas Tech students are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to form real connections with their professors. Last semester I got sick and decided not to go to class that day. By noon, my professor had texted me asking if I was okay! That was something I never would have expected considering the mass number of professors and programs Tech has, and it resonated with me! Which brings me to my final point. Some colleges and universities will be known and/or specialize in one department; however, Tech has solid programs all around. From agriculture to engineering to the Health Sciences Center to business, and even law. I find this is especially important in showing how diverse of a campus we are.

I absolutely hated everything about attending TTU.Quite BrightMechanical Engineering
I absolutely hated everything about attending TTU. I had one good teacher in 4 years, horrible staff in administration as well. At every turn, the school will nickle and dime you, even if your GPA is on the line. No pay, you have a hold no matter what. This school is so greedy to feed the shitty ass football program. Stay far away from this school, the city is garbage also. I hated Texas Tech, such a greedy school with second class teachers and employees. Poor leadership from the upper administration. I could keep going, but you should just stay far far away.
