I am now entering the mid-point of my second semester here at Pitt and I can say that it has been a great experience. If you are going into any business, pharmacy, or engineering/science Pitt is a great school to come to. There is a huge emphasis here on internation studies, and internships for business students. You really get the feeling that the business teacher are here to help you succeed in the future. The classes are not to hard, and weekends are fun. Most people drink on the weekends, which is usually going to South Oakland houses or drinking in rooms with friends, but there are people that dont and they still have fun. Its easy to get to anywhere in Pittsburgh because of the free busses for students so if you are into the culture, sporting events, or anything else downtown its easy access. Getting Pitt basketball and football tickets is a must. Everyone follows the teams and it is lots of fun to go to games. If I had the choice again to pick a college I would definatly pick Pitt

Pitt can honestly be the most wonderful place you can spend your college years if you are willing. The school work is hard but Pitt students have a sense of community that kind of makes the bad..fun? haha like we all suffer together kind of thing. If you go out of your own way, you'll find that everyone else wants to make friends and meet new people too. Pitt students have this way of acting like they're too cool for a lot of things, but if you approach them, you'll find that most students are extremely friendly and openminded.

Question
The University of Pittsburgh is a great placeQuite BrightPhysical Therapy/Exercise Science
The University of Pittsburgh is a great place to get an education. There's plenty to do and students are given a bus pass so you can get around easily enough. The courses are challenging but not impossible. You are expected to fend for yourself to a degree, but if you're going to be successful it's a skill you'll need to learn at some point. Sometimes things feel a bit impersonal and the weather doesn't help with those days when it feels like you're getting the cold shoulder. Staff are generally pretty good. Some are a bit arrogant but for the most part they're knowledgeable and helpful provided you work hard. The only issue I have with the university is if you've got a TA in the introductory sciences you can almost guarantee they're going to be foreign and almost impossible to understand. I don't know why they're hiring some of these people but it's like they stand up in front of the class and mumble incomprehensibly. This makes recitations worthless and labs a lot more difficult (especially if you're really trying to learn something from them). I'd say 95% of the recitations I've had in the math & physics depts have been with such TAs and all of my chemistry labs certainly have been. It's a bit disappointing.
