NYU has been somewhat of a mixed blessingQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
NYU has been somewhat of a mixed blessing for me. The education it provides is somewhat challenging and you must work for your grades. However, the atmosphere of school itself is something to be desired. The Stern School is overly competitive, with people doing whatever they can to get that elusive internship. You will find that your peers are no smarter than you are, and that they put on this arrogant facade for no reason other than to feel superior to their peers. Stern is very similar to high school. Cliques are rampant and once people make friends, there will be no room to make more. Of course, it is very expensive, but if all you care about is getting a good education and a good job, then by all means apply to NYU.

When coming here, one has to be willing to find what they want to be involved in and go do it. No one will wait for you or walk you through it. Life here requires a determination of will and a desire to find and explore one's self through own interests.

Question
This is a school for self starters.Quite BrightJournalism
This is a school for self starters. If you can't take responsibility for yourself, your classes, your credits, your mental health...DON'T COME HERE. NYU is like any other prestigious urban university...large, rather impersonal, but very valuable to those who challenge themselves and have a drive to succeed. New York is wonderful, New York is dangerous. My school, just like my city, is what you make of it. No one opens doors for you here. You have to wipe your own ass.
