Question
I have seen a lot of negative commentsQuite BrightCommunications
I have seen a lot of negative comments about NYU. I must say,you must
try to disregard them. Everyone will have their opinions, that is a known fact of life.I must say since I been attending N.Y.U,

I have become a better and sharper thinker. The course work and
faculty, made me aware that I was not operating at my full potential. I think the people that posted negative comments about N.Y.U, just could not adjust to the course load, or requirement for perfection.Which is the impression that I got during my first month at N.Y.U. I say come to this University, and experience it for your self. It will make you a better overall student. I am glad I enrolled here.It

is the best University in America, as far as I am concerned.

Question
NYU can be a great place to goSuper BrilliantMath
NYU can be a great place to go to college if you let it be by putting forth the effort. The CAS/Courant math department is truly a behemoth amongst math departments, it has the best professors and students in the country. This summer, I'm working for a commodities trading firm, and next year after I graduate I'll probably be working there full time. The NYU name helped tremendously in my job search, and the math department is here is very reknowned.

There are some at NYU who complain about the high tuition, but they are usually morons who don't understand the concept of caveat emptor, I've also noticed they tend to major in stupid things like education or social work and don't want to go into high paying careers. It's like why are you complaining about the high tuition, you knew what it was coming in?

Basically, there are 2 types of people at NYU. The first type are ones who come to NYU for great academics but also have fun partying in New York, these people study things like math, finance, econ, philosophy, and film, pre-med, pre-law, etc. NYU can be a great fit for this type of person, i.e. one who appreciates both great academics and an urban atmosphere. The second type are ones who come here to only be "part of the city" (these people ususally study things like art, drama, education, social work, etc). This type has no concern for academics and tend to fail at NYU at rates much higher than the first type...after all, school is expensive, and the city gets old really fast if you don't have a ton of spending money from rich parents. Translation: despite the greatness of this city, you won't succeed at NYU if you're only here for the city and not the great academics. If you fall into this catagory, think long and hard before coming to NYU.
