Harold Washington is a great stepping stone forQuite BrightAccounting
Harold Washington is a great stepping stone for anyone to begin, continue, or transfer college. The new school looks fantastic; you can take the stairs, escalators, or 4 elevators! The classes start full, but gradually become more intimate. Teachers are actually "cool". The students are literally from every walk of life and very entertaining. I'm 23 & white which isn't more normal then guys from Taiwan or girls from Jordan. Academics are what you expect; if you pay attention and work hard you will get A's (and I've always been a C student hehe). Plus, they have lots of online classes and HWC is CHEAP (do fundamental classes here & then transfer to a reputable college). I got accepted into DePaul and U.I.C. business schools after 3 semesters.

Question
I took classes at large at HWC becauseSuper BrilliantOther
I took classes at large at HWC because I wanted to go on to graduate school in a different field. Thus, I have already been through the university system and know what to expect. HWC had the rudest staff, the most ineffiecient administration, and the classes were not challenging. I pity the student that gets an Associate's from HWC then transfers to a different institution because they will be ill-prepared for the challenge. If you are planning on going here, don't stay long. Transfer as soon as you can.

Question
Overall HWC is okay.BrightEducation
Overall HWC is okay. Like some people posted before this, if you get involved, you'll make friends and have fun. I don't feel like getting involved so I just go to class and go home. But everyone's nice. If you're an attractive girl you'll get catcalled at and followed every now and then, but it's your choice to pay attention or not. The school's very diverse and there's lots of places to socialize (like the student lounge in the basement, computer labs on 4th floor and the 2nd floor computer place/lounge). I don't plan on staying here and I can't wait until this semester is over so I can go away to college. But it's a pretty good school. The teachers are friendly and they all have office hours. And don't be afraid to ask questions; I've heard some of the dumbest, lol. There isn't really anything too bad about the school, it's coming up; the building looks really nice now and it's upkept, the washrooms are clean too. Maybe the building being redone makes the faculty happier because I don't notice any angry faculty. The classes get a little boring, and the catcalling and following gets annoying, but besides that it's okay. Just make sure if you're not going to get involved, talk to other classmates, because there's no other way you're gonna make friends. Peace!
