The beauracracy is slow and sometimes condescending towards students. Some professors could care less while others are attempting to acelerate learning. The general upkeep of the grounds is something else to be desired despite spotlighted renovations. If you respect some of the past academic achievements and athletic craze (that seems to claim a majority of the budget), this is your school.

1st Year Female -- Class 1921

Social Life: B+, Campus Aesthetics: D+

I was accepted to UF via the PaCE (Pathways to Campus Enrollment) program which did not allow me attend classes on campus until I completed all pre-reqs online or as a transient at another university. UF is definitely a conservative, white school. If you're not a "good ol boy" you're never going to be fully accepted. The school has undergone a lot of construction recently and the area is definitely experiencing growing pains. Many of the professors are either distant and unfriendly or very much into social drinking and craft beer. Most of my classmates seem conservative, close minded and narcissistic. I'm seriously considering transferring, but I'm limited to the state of Florida because of Florida Pre-Paid.

When I graduated from UF and went to Grad School I thought I might be behind what grads. of private schools would know. It turns out I had read more and more in depth than any of my private school grad. friends. My education at UF both in History and Romance Languages was outstanding and has served me well even now just two years short of retirement. I have never lacked for employment in my chosen field: college professor.
