Florida State is aQuite BrightBiology
Florida State is a pretty average environment. The campus is beautiful, but many of the teachers are graduate students or do not speak english well. If you want to join a frat or sorority this place is for you otherwise it may be kind of boring.

Question
If you go to FSU you will noticeAverageCultures/Civilization
If you go to FSU you will notice a lot of 23-27 year old undergrads, also known as "super seniors."
This is because FSU requires you to take a full load of fairly difficult courses to finish your major on time. If you need a more flexible schedule, good luck not graduating until you're 26. This is also because all majors at FSU are also intentionally designed to fail people out. I took several elective Humanities courses that should have been easy as part of general requirements, but these simple subjects were made so needlessly complicated and dense that the classes were hard to keep up with.

Also, anything you hear about FSU having a great social life is bull. Maybe it does but not if you want to get anything higher than a C in your courses. FSU does not let you have a balance between the two. You will be spending more time working your ass off in the library to finish 20-page papers than you will experiencing a social life.

The good side is some of the students are friendly, especially if you go to places like the library Starbucks or the Student Life Center. These are good places to meet people. FSU is easy to get into, but it is hard to stay in.

Question
The surrounding area is filthy and depressing.AveragePerfomance Arts
The surrounding area is filthy and depressing. There are a lot of arrogant, closed-minded students at FSU, but they won't bother you too much. There are also a lot of boring, unmotivated losers as well as people who think a college degree is just a career certificate. If you're just in college to get a job, go to a trade school or a community college. If you actually want to study what you love, go to university.

The faculty is very nice though. I've had some of the best teachers of my academic career here. FSU is a mixed bag, but it's a nice cozy campus with small class sizes and good resources. You could definitely do worse.
