Florida State University

There should have been less "ivory tower" education and more "real life" experience--internships, etc. I should not have expected the school to help me find employment after I graduated, and I should not have listened to their "ivory tower" presentations of what a position should be like. I wish I had been more assertive/aggressive about marketing myself, and I wish the university had provided more training in doing that--we had one seminar for a few hours which mostly covered writing resumes.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

Excellent university, but YOU have to work HARD. An education will not be handed over to you blindly, but for the relatively low cost you can't go wrong. I received an education that I would rank at or above most of the people I have worked with over the last 6 years. FSU provides above average students with an incredible number of opportunities - research opportunites, social opportunities, etc etc, but you have to go out and get it yourself. Lazy and people of average intelligence will be able to get through this university (hence it's poor academic reputation) but will not prosper at it.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

This University may not be #1 but it does give you a life and believe me, it can be challenging and hard at times. Everything depends in what you do and how. You make the education you get.
