I have to say this is an awesome school.BrightCommunications
I have to say this is an awesome school. you make your life here as fun as you want it to be. People that dont like the social life here arnt really going out and meeting people. I have seen lots of different types of people and if some students stop and look at there fellow students they can see that we are not all like clones. I transferred here and I love it.

It can get awful lonely on the weekendsBrightEconomics
It can get awful lonely on the weekends or the certain nights that sororities and fraternities have their meetings or Greek socials. I'd say that 2 in every 3 freshmen join sororities so if you plan on coming to chapman join the Greek system. I didn't and it gets so lonely and quiet when all the other students have gone to either their off campus residences or social clubs... :(

Question
I was a super student in high school.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I was a super student in high school. AP tests and everything. Once I started attending Chapman, I thought I could pull off the same routine I had in high school- pay attention in class and do my hw. Turns out that that didn't work so well. My advice is to do everything that your professors tell you to do. When you truly feel you have a grip on the subject, slow your pace down. I you EVER feel yourself struggling, seek help!!! This is very important. Do not be shy. You are paying a great deal of money for a Chapman education so use all the resourses available to you, not matter how snooty some may be. I struggled my first semester. I was placed on academic probation and had to meet with the head of the academic success department every other week. The first time we met to discuss my situation, she told me that it was nearly impossible to raise my GPA high enough so that I would not be dismissed from Chapman. Her words and lack of understanding for my situation brought my down to a point were I thought 'what the hey, I'm going to be dismissed anyway, why keep trying?' I let myself quit before the end of the second semester. Now I wish that I had stayed and tried my best, after all that is all we can do. A word of advice no matter how corny it sounds, don't let others bring you down. I had a course where the professor tried to bring his own students down by talking down to us and condescending us. He basically verbally flaunted his doctorate in our face constantly. Chapman is a beautiful school, but don't let all that beauty blind you or make you think that you don't belong there. And don't let yourself down either.
