Many students have complained that this college isNot so bright
Many students have complained that this college is only after your money. Well yes they are a business, most colleges would not last and wouldn't be around if they weren't making money from their students. Professors and others who run the campus have bills to pay too. Even state colleges and universities throughout the United States are there for the money as well.

The college is accredited, it was fully accredited in 2007. They also offer many of their majors online but only the ones that have been accredited for online work. Certain majors like architecture are only available through the campus.

Do your research, go to their website and read about them, go to wikipedia and type in "Academy of Art University" and click search, you will come across a lot of info on the university itself.

As far as the university buying up real estate throughout San Francisco, well I don't care about the politics. I understand that its annoying but hey at least its students that are using those buildings, its better than having some other corporation come in and turn them into condos.

College is what you make of it. But yes, AAU is legitimate, they are accredited, the online majors that they offer are also accredited for online work. Certain majors like architecture are campus only because they were only accredited for the campus and not for online work. AAU seems to have been working really hard lately to be taken seriously and I think its great. I respect them for that. They are open admissions because they want to give everyone a chance to at least try. They don't give out degrees, you have to EARN yours and work your butt off to get it. Yes they are somewhat expensive but that's any college these days, there are more expensive colleges than AAU.

Question
Sometimes I would like to have a bitAverageArt & Design Department
Sometimes I would like to have a bit more guidance perhaps in the form of warm ups. I am a long distance student an in the projects your creativity can be slow or simply almost disappears when you have the pressure of knowing how little time you have -due to working full time-to get into your creative mood, do research, and be able to create a presentable HW. I would highly recommend the school to anybody but anyone entering has to be committed to give 200% of your time an energy if you are not a supper gifted, fast, creative, producing person.

Question
Don't Expect any help with financial aid.Super BrilliantArt & Design Department
Don't Expect any help with financial aid. They don't care about you. The Academy is a for profit corporation. If you have any problems they can easily replace you with another bright-eyed kid. This school is NOT about art it's about industry. If you want to keep your soul go to SFAI or CalArts if you want to be a corporate monster the Academy is the place for you. Be prepared to detach your jaw and get some Bengay for your back because you'll be bent over from all the ass kissing. If you work hard it's a good school to go to. This isn't a place for the weak. Take time out to evaluate yourself before you go here. Only the strong survive- look at the retention rate.
