He cares more about Campus Maintenance than the average student.

The University's staff does not care about students. Some of the Faculty do, but it depends on the department. Administration is more interested in money than anything else. Student Accounts Services likes to sneak little made up fees into your bill, as they review it and send you a new copy 2 times a month for the first 4 months of each semester. The basic requirements for admittance to the University do not matter if your parents are willing to make a very large donation to the school. It is true that TAs do not teach courses, only labs, but most of the basic intro courses and those needed to fulfill Core Requirements are taught by "Associate Professors" (Part-timers who may have a Masters) or forced on the less senior professors in a department, who odds are, don't want to be there. Maintenance doesn't speak English and refuses to show up for repairs to students rooms after 10 A.M. The food sucks. Literally, it is some of the worst slop you will ever see served anywhere (except during "Parent Weekend"). Housing refuses to listen to or help students, all their interested in is getting your money. The quality of the dorms is the worst of any college I've visited in the state of Florida. Landscaping has a bigger budget than Housing. There is no security. There are rent-a-cops who sit in offices randomly around campus, who stick their heads out occasionally, but otherwise are afraid to approach anyone they see on campus. Also, they're not armed. The only people on campus who carry weapons are the Rennaissance Re-enactment group. Breakins and robberies are much more common than the University admits publicly. The Greeks run all the student controlled aspects of the school, and do a very poor job of it. Basicly, if you want a supportive, fun, and open-minded college where the staff and faculty are helpful and care, and the students are interested in things beyond merely getting drunk/high and partying, then this is not the school for you.
