Bates is a great place, with a ton of opportunities to get involved. The students are friendly, the food and dorms are good, and the faculty really care that you do well both in class and beyond. This summer Bates paid for my outside internship, which meant I could do interesting work that I otherwise couldn't afford. Lewiston isn't the most exciting city but it has a lot more to offer than you would think at first glance.
