The average Chapman student is a white, upper class, male, film student. Located in California's conservative haven, Orange County, the school is probably half and half on the liberal/conservative tilt. If you are 1) not a big drinker 2) hippie-type 3) social justice warrior 4) not into the Southern California beautiful people stereotype 5) middle or lower class 6) majoring in something other than film or business 7) want a huge sports culture 8) not into hookup culture Don't go here! I made a huge mistake in not reading reviews on these types of websites before I came here! I do think Chapman would be a great fit for some and I have been able to find people I connect with. But I wouldn't say I fit into the overall campus vibe. I will say some good things about Chapman since I want this review to be objective and not overtly negative: 1) the campus is beautiful 2) being from out of state, I do love the Southern California weather! 3) Orange is cute, reminds me of my hometown, and I don't mind being in a suburb. The closest beach (Newport) is only 20-30 minutes away and LA is an hour or so depending on traffic - lots of things to do in the area! 4) being a foodie, I can't say I love the cafeteria, but it's not bad!
