I regret the day I came in for orientation to Hofstra's Graduate School of Education. I have never had gainful employment as a teacher, just as a substitute. Luckily my husband has a decent job because I cannot make a living with my worthless Hofstra education degree. Please stay away. I wish I could at least say I learned something at Hofstra, even though it didn't lead to a job. The classes were for the most part worthless. I had horrible mentor teachers for my student teaching assignment. They had no interest whatsoever in mentoring. I try not to even think about the time and money I wasted or I get almost suicidal. I hope I can help at least one person from wasting precious years of their lives. Unless you know someone, you will have an extremely hard time finding a decent teaching job on Long Island.
