The school is over capacity. I'm an Art and Design major at UNf and I can say I've been a bit disappointed. The school is very well-kept and pretty, and for the most part (at lest in core classes and the art department) the faculty is great. A few teachers here and there that assign way too much homework or teach at a much higher level than the class should be taught. But the biggest problem is the administration. They do not care whatsoever about their students, and just see them as more dollars to put in their wallet. The school offers very little money in financial aid, raise the cost of tution pretty much every year, spend money on things they don't need and the students never asked for to make the school seem "cooler" to incoming freshmen, then have the gaul to call your parents and ask for donations. A prime example of the administration's care for the people attending their school is the parking situation. For the past 6 years or so, students of the school have been complaining that there isn't enough parking for them. They keep accepting more students than they have space for, but make no attempt to accommodate them. Instead, they spent $6 million on a pool/clubhouse for the underclassmen since they kept going over to the most expensive dorm to use the pool. And they built it over a parking lot. Whats worse is that you can buy a premium (blue) parking pass that allows you to park in the several lots near the campus, but most of the spots in most of the lots are for faculty and vendors only, which is a huge rip off. Then there's the AP classes. The school only accepts very few of them from high school even if you passed the test. I had to take Literature over again my first years because even though I scored a 4 on the AP test. I only recommend the school as sort of a community college. Go there if you have to, get an AA or AS and get out before you're stuck with so much debt and disappointment, you can't go on.
