I know eveyone has their own opinion about this school. I will be slightly broad but this is my experience. Tech does have qualified staff and the university environment inspires learning. It is a quiet and safe campus so I have no arguments to that. Are some of the staff self-absorbed, YES. However not all and you can identity the ones that are fairly easily if you keep an open eye. I did come to Tech to learn and become a proffessional and I have learned skills in my classes to become just that. Really Ive learn most about being a better person through encounters with the faculty and friendly citizens of Ruston. The engineering professors are very knowledgeable, but they are not all friendly and willing to help so for the most part you need to watch your own back along with friends to have the best chance. All in all, I would say LA Tech is a good public school. I am never going to say it is the "best school ever" like those people (mainly women) on sites like cappex. Their are way better engineering schools in the United States people so WAKE UP. Tech is ranked 126th for the best engineering schools according to the US NEWS for 2013. (Dont believe me, Look it up yourself). By the way, US NEWS decides which tier universities fall in, so it is relatively legitimate to go by them. Sorry I dragged on them, but someone has to poke a hole in Tech's ego.
