Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
I got a graduate degree in Crime and Justice Studies from Suffolk University. It was the worst mistake I've ever made. The education itself was about 3 stars. The professors were either excellent or terrible. It seemed to depend primarily on whether they actually had ANY experience in what they were teaching, or just had spent a lot of time in the Ivory Tower of education. However, the PC administrators decided AFTER I was accepted to change the name from "Criminal Justice" to Crime and Justice Studies to make it sound friendlier. Please understand that NONE of the classes changed. The result is, I cannot get a job in ANY of the fields I had intended which specifically require CJ degrees. There is NO assistance available for job hunting or internships. Also, now that I have a graduate degree I am "overqualified" for the job I had been doing. So I am now 100k in debt to spend 18 months working part time at a job that requires a high school diploma and barely able to pay my rent. Thanks Suffolk - there go my dreams of owning my own house and being out of debt some time in my life.
