La Salle is an okay school for some people. It's filled with rich Catholic private school kids. Some are very friendly, but others are stuck up and have never stepped outside their suburbs. Most people join sororities and fraternities, so if that's not your thing, you're pretty much stuck. You can still find friends, but again, they're mostly the private school type. If you went to a Catholic school and are used to that, you may enjoy it here, but if not, you should look elsewhere. There is nothing to do on campus or around it. If you want to get off campus to do anything, you have to take the subway to Center City, because the surrounding area is ghetto with nothing to do, ever, and it's dangerous. You can't walk down the street alone farther than the Fresh Grocer. The frat parties get boring fast and half the time they're closed. The clubs are alright, but almost all of them are community service oriented, nothing for other interests and activities. La Salle doesn't have a football team, its sport is basketball, so that sucks. The professors are good. They always give everyone individual attention, and class sizes are small. I had a couple that were kind of a--holes, but you get that anywhere. Some of the work was random and not relevant at all, some was busy work, some was high school level stuff. Overall, classes weren't bad or that challenging, but I didn't get much out of them. Tuition is very expensive. That would be fine if the school were actually worth the cost, but it isn't. It's a third tier school and it's not like you're getting a Harvard education here. The dorms are falling apart, some don't even have A/C, and most of the buildings are really old and need to be updated. Most of your tuition money will go towards paying the Christian Brothers' salaries instead of paying for anything for the students. La Salle does give some pretty good scholarships if you had good grades in high school, but especially if you live in the dorms, you're still going to be paying a lot of money. Overall, La Salle works for some people. I met people who really loved it there, and I met people who hated it. I transferred to a cheaper, better school after my first year.
