The students are friendly and people work to help each other out. You can do whatever you like at Duke. About 30% of the students pledge, but most people are independents. No one seems to care. My teachers and classmates are awesome. My friends who went to some of the Ivys seems stressed out and some downright miserable. I just feel sorry for them as a few just want to transfer out. While Durham is just OK, you really don't rely on Durham for anything. I was never an athlete, athletics helps give the student body a sense of pride. Duke really comes together as a community. I love how open the school is to foreign exchange. I am going to Europe in junior year. I can not imagine having gone anywhere else. As a bonus, the weather is far better than almost any other great school.
