If you are out of state you may want to consider the following: 1. Many freshmen come into the school already knowing at least a few, if not many, other incoming freshmen from their Michigan high school. 2. Do not expect to make many friends in class. You will have more luck getting to know people by joining organizations on campus. 3. Due to the declining Michigan economy (I believe) they are getting rid of lecturers. This makes it harder to get into classes because there are less class sections available. If you're into the football/frat scene Michigan may still be a good choice for you. However, if you are not it may not be such a good choice for out-of-state kids.
