Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Ohio State is a university that prides itself on its football team and not much else. Athletics completely overshadow academics here. The professors here don't care about the undergrads and most of the TA's don't speak English. The social scene consists of people getting ****faced and talking about Buckeyes football and what sports they played at their high school in some podunk Ohio town. There are some East Coasters here who were too dumb to get into the other big 10 schools, so they came here for the football and the drinking. The kids in the honors college are bright, but definitely aren't the norm on campus. A lot of the academic buildings are falling apart, while the sports facilities seem to be constantly getting renovated. I'm from the West Coast and people from my home state laugh when they hear that I go to OSU. I have a pretty nice sized scholarship here, so it really shows how I much I hate this school that I would want to leave so much money on the table. I find the rivalry between OSU and Michigan to be rather humorous because the academics here pale in comparison to Michigan. Michigan is an elite public school with a great reputation worldwide. Also, Ann Arbor puts Columbus to shame. There are some decent graduate programs at OSU, but the undergrad education and reputation of the school is horrendous outside of the state of Ohio, so don't plan on coming here unless you want to live in Ohio for the rest of your life. Fortunately, I'm just about done with my last term here and I'll be transferring out in the fall.
