Oh, how I wish I'd chanced upon a college review site before going to U of H. The dorms are like prison cells--just as cold and tiny (and I lived in the Honors dorms, which are supposedly more comfortable!) The honors classes I took were semi-worthwhile, but everything regular was mind-numbing bullshit. The campus is very pretty, but what they don't tell you is U of H main campus is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF 3RD WARD: THE GHETTO. Yayyyyyy. Especially awesome if you don't own a car! The absolute worst part about my experience--though my professors were goons and my living conditions deplorable--was the ADMINISTRATION. Oh. My. God. It took them so long to process my financial aid that it was dropped. Because of my SAT scores and great HS grades, I was supposed to have gotten a $6000 grant (paid over 4 years) to cover my expenses. I never got a penny. To this day, UH claims I OWE THEM more than $6000 dollars. If you have a choice at all, avoid U of H. It's a swirling vortex of evil that sucks the money from your savings, the brain cells from your head and the joy from your soul.
