TTU is amazing, I cam from out of state because of the excellent undergraduate anthropology/archaeology program. It is first rate and unlike other regional schools you get 1-1 attention and there are still opportunities for research and outside work. The school is incredible, although Lubbock is isolated it has everything you would need, and in a few years time the city will be even more built up. I have no regrets about coming here, I choose Tech over UT Austin, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Arizona State. You get the big campus feel with athletics, student body size, resources etc, with the 1 on 1 attention of a small university, my best friend at UT is so jealous. The students are friendly, the faculty is nice, it is definitely a great place to live and learn.
