Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
While Indiana is a very prestigous public university, known nation-wide for its business school (Kelley), and Music school (Jacob), there many unattractive aspects of the university. -Academics: I felt that the faculty for the most part is very helpful and understanding. Majority of the lectures or proffesors hold convienant office hours and also willing to meet by appointment. But know that if you wish to be in the business school, the pre-req courses you will take are challenging, and the instructors treat it as if its the only class you are taking, they load you up and expect you to concentrate on their class only. The HPER school is very good and also SPEA (pub/environmental affairs). -Student Body: Overall there are 3 types of students who go here. There are in-state residents who come here knowing a lot of people from high school. There are the chicago kids (tend to be wealthy, but not all) who major in business. And there are the east coast kids who basically didn't get into to there primetime first choice private schools out east (tend to be the snobbier of the bunch). -Social Life: Unless you are coming here with a ton of friends from high school or you know a ton of older kids here that have houses and apartments, know that you will have to go greek to have any social life. Greeks run the school, whether it be parties-campus events-concerts-community events-networking. This sucks for guys because of the long pledgeships, girls isn't quite as difficult. The bars here are very strict, so don't expect that kind of night life. Overall, a lot of people like Indiana, if you like conformity and a small town bubble feel (the campus is also extremely safe, very rarely is their crime on campus) you will like it here. But don't get too sold on how the nice the campus is when you visit in the spring, they made it non smoking so instead of having ash buckets around campus, theres just butts lying around everywhere. And some buildings are rather old.
