VCU is a good school overall for an in-state student. The campus is urban, but it is pretty safe given the location. VCU offers a quality education in more than just art and medicine. Overall, I'd give VCU a solid "B" in academics...not too bad, but not UVA/W&M material. I think the biggest let-down of VCU are the amounts of students that are admitted that can not complete college-level coursework. These students detract from the experience, but VCU is committed to offering them an education whether or not they take the initiative to complete it. On a brighter note, it seems like the Greek Life and athletic (esp. Men's Basketball) programs are generating a lot of school spirit as of late.
