Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
(parent perspective)My son is a freshman at UCSB this year (now a sophomore due to AP credits). He was accepted to Berkeley, Pepperdine, San Diego State, and Cal Poly SLO. All excellent schools. UCB seemed to be the obvious choice when all the letters came in. However, after visiting and staying for a couple days at all of the campuses, he chose UCSB. At first I was very unhappy with his decision because I wanted him to go to Cal. BUT, We let him choose UCSB. He attended the SB Summer Start program and is almost done with the Fall session. We have visited him a number of times. His grades are very good and he loves it. We have gotten to know the school and his friends. What a great place with fantastic kids! We are certain now it was a fit. The education, housing, food, location, people, weather, beach, and social life couldnt be better. Do the kids party??? YES. But, the vast majority seem to manage their time properly. No wonder it takes a 3.8 to 4.0 GPA to get in. No one probably ever wants to leave!
