Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Not to sound too clich?, but the University of Miami, like many other schools, is what you make of it. Let me start by making a bold statement: If you do not play a sport or your major is not business, law, pre-med or marine science, I would NOT advice coming here. It seems UM focuses on these way too much and carries along the rest for the sake of being a University. The students here are all very nice, the stereotypes are WRONG. The faculty on the other hand is not so great. Professors are not very accessible and when they are, they are virtually useless and/or rude. The same can be said for all of the employees of the U from maintenance to the department of residence halls. The campus, itself, is very nice, but UM poured all of its money into the library and left the rest to decay; my dorm is falling apart, its awful. All in all, it depends on who you are... The party scene is pretty good, but I, myself, am not into it. South Beach is about 25-30 minutes away and is the only real source of a "good night out." The grove is wayyyyy overrated.
