Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
This school is a joke. The education is medicore at best. there's no freedom in your classes as the profs force on you this NEED for "conceptual" art. Everything else is looked upon as trash. Funny, for a school where the majority of its successful alumni all make their fortunes in commercial art. Honestly, I swear to you the students at this school are the worst people you will ever meet at this school. I read these comments before coming to this school about happy, sociable people not fitting in, ignored it, and now i find out that they are completely right. I've always been the one to be eager to make friends, and I'm naturally just a very happy, friendly and outgoing person. Students here dress like trash and will treat you like trash if you don't fit in with their love of torn clothing and thick non-prescription eyeglasses. I transferred here from a large university with a fine art faculty and decided that i wanted to focus on my art. HUGE mistake. After a fun year of learning, parties and making great lifelong friends, i come to SAIC only to find the people non-talkative, very awkward and sometimes even hostile. I've made about 3 friends in the course of 2 semesters, each one telling me that they're so happy to have met me because the other students are not friendly at all. I feel depressed being here, and i've always been a happy person. if you live in the dorms expecting to make friends, don't set your sights too high - most people dont leave their rooms. i've never seen a college dorm so lifeless and boring. I plan on transferring out after this year. The school stripped me of any love I had for art, and i'm excited to leave for home in a week and completely change my major. Maybe one in business studies.
