I love my experience so far at La Salle. I attended a very large state school for a semester and left because it was so awful. La Salle is a dream. My professors are very knowledgable and eager to help students. Since the surrounding area is not the best, campus security is everywhere. I have never felt unsafe walking around campus, night or day, alone or in a group. They also have a shuttle that will take you to various areas of campus. It even stops at the subway station on Broad Street. If you're at the subway station and the shuttle isn't there to take you back to campus, you can call security and they will send and escort to pick you up. It's very convenient. As a whole, the student body is friendly and welcoming. I've found it very easy to make and keep friends. There are plenty of extracurricular activites to get involved in. Most clubs meet during free period (a block of time each day when there aren't any classes, usually used for clubs and lunch) once a week so it's easy to be involved in many different activities. A lot of people do go home on the weekends, but there are still plenty of parties and La Salle activities to do on the weekends. They often run bus trips to various places of interest on weekends. The trips are usually free or of minimal cost. Being in Philadelphia is wonderful too. In my opinion, Philadelphia is the best city in the county. There is so much to do. It never gets boring and Center City is just a 15 minute ride away on the subway. The dorms are not that bad. The dorms in north campus are older, but they are relatively large compared to dorms at many other schools I've seen. St. Basil Court in south campus is a very nice place to live. It's only a few years old and most of the rooms are suite-style. Most residents are sophomores and honors freshmen, but there are a few juniors and seniors. The only downside of La Salle is the price. Because it is a private school, tuition is high and your total yearly cost can run around $42,000. However, La Salle is VERY generous with financial aid. Merit, sports, and service scholarships are just a few you can recieve. I'm a resident student and I'm currently paying less per year than I would be paying if I went to a state school. La Salle really is a great school and is defintely worth your time and money.
