Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
The administration at Columbia is corrupt, and they do not care about education. The joint program I had been accepted into was cancelled without my knowledge, and I was not grand father claused in. Also, I was harassed by another student who uses drugs and alcohol on campus. When I complained to that student with campus security and the deans, Columbia hired an attorney to protect my harasser and threatened me with disciplinary action if I attempted to file an official compliant. By the way, this person harassed a girl on campus, and she was forced to move out of her dorm room freshman year. However, his father is an alumni of the school, and apparantly status trumps safety as well as ethics. Columbia is not only unsafe, the academics are sub par. As so many students have correctly noted, you could do far better at a community college for a fraction of the overpriced cost. The core is hit or miss, mostly miss, and in terms of my major, music, the department is simply a mess. My high school had a better department that what I found at Columbia. Accordingly, I am transferring to a better school, even though I will lose a substantial amount of credits and time.
