Imagine an underground insane asylum, filled with 18-22 year old people, with no windows, few rooms, and dark, dimly lit hallways. Now imagine that all of these people somehow escaped and managed to establish their own liberal arts college in a decimated, half-deserted, industrial wasteland called the city of Beloit. These former inmates called their former dungeons the 'basements of Whitney Hall' and told stories about how in the 1950s they used to be bomb shelters so that other, newer students did not know that this 'college' was really a former nuthouse and that it was inhabitated by some of the strangest creatures on Earth. This is Beloit College. Strangely enough, for better or worse, it grows on you.
