I found the nursing program to be quite a challenge, but the instructors for classes and clinicals were more than willing to help us out. Many times, the instructors would take extra time out to hold extra help sessions to allow us to gain a more comfortable feel for various clinical procedures. The teachers sought opportunities to clarify difficult concepts and did not want anyone to get left behind in the program. I think the strict rules that accompany the program help the college produce more prepared nurses. I feel well prepared to take my NCLEX-RN and start my work in the nursing world. We were tested based on NCLEX structured questions years 2-4. PCC has an extremely high passing rate for the examination the first time it is taken. Many people bash the college because of the "rules." I think a lot of it depends on your attitude. If you go into the school with a bad attitude, then you are going to be displeased by it. Overall, the majority of the students do not have a problem with the rules, mainly because everyone must abide by them, not just one individual person. If people would just understand that the rules are based on a utilitarianistic viewpoint, they would understand that the rules work best for all the people as a whole.
