Major: (This Major's Salary over time)
Davis is a post-hippie community with little to do in the way of rowdy college fun. Aside from a sleepy town social scene, there is little else to do except study, which is what most of the student body does especially if you are involved in the sciences. Otherwise, students with any other majors, excluding economics and/or engineering find themselves in an engaging academic environment rife with debate and discussion; in my opinion much of this discussion happens in coffee shops and living rooms while sipping wine/Pabst Blue Ribbon. Lots of armchair professors, with little outlet for growth outside of the Sacramento suburban area. Unfortunately, this is one reason many students stay much longer than they need to (ie 4-5 years and/or finding jobs in Davis, Sac, etc.). In conclusion, great place to go if you are introverted, not so great if you crave a fast paced hectic lifestyle.
