When I first toured OU, I feel in love with the beauitful campus. A few weeks into the quarter, however, I started to consider transferring for a number of reasons. My main problem with OU is with the overall social atmosphere. If you don't mind being surrounded by a bunch of Barbie clones and obnixous frat boys who yell at you from balconies to take shots with them (provided you are dressed like a slut!), then come on down to Athens! If you look hard enough and get involved in some groups, on the other hand, you can get away from the party-hardy majority but it takes a lot of work. Overall, the people are friendly but FAKE. I have loved all of my classes, and there are some decent educational programs here. Athens is an adorable town but unless you want to drink all the time, you will get bored very fast. I like the small town vibe here but the party atmosphere is almost unbearable. I would recommend bringing a car to campus if you don't want to be surrounded by the Animal House vibe 5 days a week. So, in a nutshell, OU is an amazing campus, with some cool people if you really go out of your way. Don't expect to find any diversity here or to be culturally, or educationally enlightened.
