Unfortunately, my time would’ve been spent much better at many other universities. The University of Michigan sets the bar high, however, provides inadequate means to reach it. Many of the individual colleges are plagued with busy work and overly competitive classes. My experience has been in the College of Engineering. Rather than teaching real world skills I've been taught almost strict theory. This makes surviving in the work force difficult at times - in internship situations, engineering students from other Big Ten Univeristies including Purdue and MSU faired much better. The thought of working in a group is almost frowned upon even though engineering is a collaborative art. The campus population is rude at best and the professors are extremely unhelpful – they seem too occupied with their pension plans.
